Life in my new cubicle

This is my new cubicle in our new office at Hill Street (near City Hall mrt).

1. Pretty gals to be found everywhere.

2. My neighbour Jingxiong, a fellow Newcastle fan and prankster (not me).

3. My Newcastle allegiance proudly displayed.

4. Binchou-tan anime figurine (kindly donated by JH).

5. Centerpiece attraction: my talking Winnie the Pooh clock! It chimes every hour, though Piglet is the one who actually says the time. I brought it here as it was too creepy hearing the voice at home late at night.

6. Watson's water bottle and various accessories.

7. High-class-looking pen holder. So I can act more like an executive. Although all it holds is a ballpoint pen.

Of course, some of my more….child-like colleagues have soft toys too. But they are cruelly abused by other demented colleagues when the owner's not around……

And just for comparison, here's my old office cubicle:

My old, boring office

As a result of processing MIO orders all day round, I was brainwashed into signing up for the attractively priced mio package too. Basically it consists of a digital telephone line service, a 3mbps broadband internet connection (up from 512kbps for me), a free wireless modem, free installation and a basic singtel mobile price plan (which I signed to get a new mobile phone to replace the bulky Nokia Ngage). All at $68 per month.

The $%^&& mio box!

The $%^&& mio box!

Everything went smoothly on the day of the installation, only for me to realize, somewhat belatedly, the inconveniences of having a digital line. For starters, all the phones have to be physically wired to the 'mio box', so my non-cordless phones in other bedrooms were rendered useless. Then my telephone and internet will be at the mercy of the box too, as I found out too late when the phone didn't work for 2 days after the installation. Turned out that I had to restart the box to fix the problem.

So far it's working fine, and I hope it continues this way… …

And here's my new phone! Read here if you haven't heard of this beautiful piece of art!
